A sane way to progress

Change one variable at a time: weight, distance, or terrain — never two in the same week. Give any increase two weeks before judging it, because a single bad night after a long ruck tells you almost nothing. And treat a persistently depressed morning HRV as information rather than a verdict; it usually means the last increase was too much too soon, not that rucking doesn’t suit you.
