Vitra has always been a personal tool: your wearable data stays on your machine, and nothing sits on our servers. But the most common request we get is a hard one — “can my coach see this too?” So we're building *Vitra Coach*, a separate product for the coach's side of that conversation. This is an early peek at what's coming, and at the one promise every feature is built around.
Between sessions, a good coach is flying blind. Your sleep, recovery, resting heart rate and HRV trends tell them whether to push a hard week or pull back — but the usual way to share that data is to wire your whole health history into a coaching platform's cloud, where it lives under their privacy policy forever. We didn't want to ship that. Vitra Coach is our answer: the insight a coach needs, without the standing pipe into your private history.
You'll grant access with a single share code — and you're granting it to your coach, a named person, never to a faceless data lake. You choose the scope (the trends that matter, like readiness and sleep — not a raw dump of everything), and access is yours to take back. One tap revokes it for good, and revoked means deleted. No standing OAuth connection quietly running whether you think about it or not.
This is the rule none of the features break. Everything that travels from your app to your coach is end-to-end encrypted. Our server is a blind store: it holds scrambled data it can never unlock, because the keys live only on your device and in your coach's browser. The headline is simple — even Vitra can't read your data. It's the local-first promise, extended to exactly one trusted person, instead of abandoned the moment a coach gets involved.
On the coach's side: a clean roster of every client at a glance — sleep, HRV, readiness, activity, a trend arrow, and when each last synced. Tap a client for the full picture: sleep stages, HRV, resting heart rate and readiness over 7, 30 or 90 days, plus a private notes panel. It's a professional tool — calm and clinical, not a gamified fitness feed — and it never pretends to be live. Wearables sync a few times a day, so you'll always see an honest “last updated 3h ago.”
Vitra Coach includes an AI layer that turns research into plain-language insight. Your coach tells it what to watch — “if HRV runs 15% below baseline for three days, flag it and cite the study” — and when it fires, a suggestion card appears for them to review, edit, and send. Unlike the black-box AI you're used to, every suggestion is explainable and grounded in real studies, not a guess you can't check. And it runs after decryption in your coach's browser, so your metrics still never leave for a server.
Coaches will be able to send a note to one client, a group, or everyone — a nudge, a reminder, an adjustment — right where the data lives. And while Vitra is Oura-first today, Vitra Coach is where support for more wearables starts: Whoop is first in line, so a coach can work with a mixed roster of rings and straps.
Vitra Coach is in active design, not yet released — so we're not putting a date on it, and we'd rather ship it right than ship it loud. If you're a coach who wants client trends without the privacy baggage, or a Vitra user whose coach keeps asking to see your numbers, this is being built for you. Until it lands, the honest move stays the same: keep your data on your device and share a score card on your terms. Vitra Coach just makes that sharing continuous — without ever breaking the promise.
