A sleep score tells you a night happened. It rarely tells you what shape the night had — when you fell asleep, when you surfaced, how the stages stacked up. Vitra draws your night so you can read it in one look.
Vitra's sleep clock-face maps the night onto a 24-hour dial with midnight at the top. Every five-minute stretch is a coloured arc at its real clock position, so bedtime, wake time, the whole sleep window, and every wake-up are spatial. You see the shape of the night — solid and unbroken, or scattered — before you read a single number.
Below the clock, a timeline strip shows deep, REM, light and awake, with the exact times you woke and for how long. Vitra names what matters — how many times you surfaced, your longest awake stretch, how long it took to fall asleep — instead of leaving you to decode a stacked chart.
Rather than a generic “aim for 8 hours,” Vitra learns the duration where your readiness plateaus and suggests a time-in-bed window anchored to your own wake time. It reads your night-to-night efficiency and gives richer guidance when your sleep runs fragmented — with the research cited so you can see why.
The Sleep page includes a CBT-i tab — the front-line, drug-free method for better sleep. A diary auto-fills from your ring each morning (correct any night by hand), your sleep efficiency is tracked against the 85–90% target band, and a wake-up heatmap shows the clock hours you tend to surface. The sleep-restriction window stays behind a toggle on purpose — it has real contraindications.
A rolling sleep-debt read shows how far behind you've fallen and whether it's building or clearing. Timing surfaces your average bedtime and how steady it is — regularity now rates above raw hours for health. And overnight blood-oxygen and breathing-rate tabs plot against your own normal, so an unusual night stands out at a glance, with the sleep-apnoea research behind them cited.
Every read shows how many nights back it, and tapping any term explains it in plain language. It's all computed on your Mac or PC from your own Oura data — nothing about your sleep leaves your machine, and there's no subscription.
This is general educational information, not medical advice. Persistent sleep problems or suspected sleep apnoea are worth discussing with a clinician.
