Am I healthy? Your Body Score, explained

6 MIN READ · VITRA HEALTH

Most health apps hand you a wall of numbers and let you sort out what matters. Vitra's Body page does the opposite: it blends your key measures into one honest score, shows what's strong and what's weak, and names the one thing worth working on.

One number for a hard question

The Body Score is a single 0–100 read of your overall physical health. It blends seven systems and deliberately leans toward your weakest one — because health is rarely limited by your best measure. A great VO₂ max doesn't cancel out years of poor sleep, and the score reflects that.

The seven systems

An “Am I healthy?” radar plots seven measures, each scored 0–100 against published health norms: cardio fitness (VO₂ max), HRV, resting heart rate, BMI, weight, daily activity, and sleep. One glance shows the shape of your health — round and full, or dented on one axis.

What to focus on

Under the radar, a single sentence names your weakest system and gives a research-cited action for it. Not ten tips you'll ignore — one lever, the one most likely to move your score. A per-system breakdown shows the exact numbers with week-over-week arrows, so you can watch a weak axis climb.

Fitness, weight and body composition

Your VO₂ max is graded against FRIEND-registry percentiles for your exact age and sex — one of the strongest predictors of long-term health. Weight tracking derives your BMR, TDEE, BMI, an estimated body-fat read and a healthy-weight range, with a smoothed trend line that cuts through daily water-weight noise and an honest, safe-pace goal band.

A trend, not a verdict

The Body Score is tracked over time, so what matters is the direction. A 68 climbing steadily beats a 74 sliding down. Vitra frames it that way — progress, not a grade — so a single rough day never reads as failure.

Yours, on your machine

Every score, norm and formula is computed locally from your own Oura data. No cloud model, no account, no health data leaving your device — the “AI” is published research plus your rolling baselines.

This is general educational information, not medical advice. A Body Score is a fitness-and-wellness signal, not a clinical assessment.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Vitra Body Score?
A single 0–100 read of your overall physical health, blending seven systems — cardio fitness, HRV, resting heart rate, BMI, weight, daily activity and sleep — each scored against published norms. It leans toward your weakest system, because health is usually limited by your weakest link, not your strongest.
How is it different from Oura's readiness score?
Readiness answers “how recovered am I today?” The Body Score answers “how healthy am I overall?” — a slower-moving, whole-body view built from fitness, body composition and long-run trends, not just last night's recovery.
Is my data used to compute this in the cloud?
No. The Body Score, the radar and every formula are computed on your Mac or PC from your own Oura data using research rules and your personal baselines. Nothing biometric leaves your device.
